Independent Financial Reviews

We conduct Independent Business Reviews on behalf of many stakeholders including directors, funders, creditors and shareholders.

Nature of reviews

The aim of such reviews are typically to identify:

  • The key short term issues being faced by the business;
  • What actions management are taking and what actions they should be considering;
  • The financial position of the business;
  • Whether there are any funding gaps in the short to medium term;
  • The risk of failure of the business and the implications of failure;
  • Appropriate strategies for dealing with the situation; and
  • Recommended action for the client and for the business.

The scope of such reviews would be agreed in advance and vary significantly depending upon the client's requirements. Reviews may be as simple as a meeting and discussion with the management of the business to a complex review involving a full review of information on site and interviews with key members of staff.

Such reviews are usually conducted at a high level and the information is not 'audited' in the full sense of the word. However if there are particular areas of concern then these can be considered in detail.

Reporting

The output also depends upon the client's requirements and preferences - it may be that a discussion is all that is required or some clients prefer a bullet point summary or a full detailed written report.

Fees

The costs of undertaking a review are agreed in advance and are based upon the scope of the review and nature of the report required.

We believe that any recommendations should be objective and independent. As such we work on the assumption that we will not provide any recommended solution - so that we have no financial interest in the recommendations we make.
